Ariana DeBose is the runaway favorite (lock) to win Best Actress at this year's Oscars. She's priced at -1800.
DeBose made her television debut competing on So You Think You Can Dance. She then made her Broadway debut in the musical Bring It On: The Musical in 2011 and appeared in further Broadway roles in Motown: The Musical in 2013 and Pippin in 2014.
Now she's up for an Oscar in the role of a lifetime for her fiery portrayal of Anita in Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” Rita Moreno, who stars in the updated version in a new role, won the Academy Award playing Anita in 1962.
“I try to keep my feet on the ground and my heart in the heavens,” she said in a recent interview via Zoom from her home in New York City, explaining that she sleeps when she can, turns her phone off, plays with her cat and dogs and tries to check in with her friends.
“This is an extraordinary experience. It’s singular,” she added. “It’s impossible to describe and I won’t be able to describe it until well after it’s done. I’m trying to remain a human.”
