The Denver Broncos have fired head coach Vic Fangio.  That payout was $1600 for the Next Head Coach Fired odds offered by Sportsbettting.ag. ESPN's Adam Schefter was the first to report the news Sunday.

Fangio was not among the favorites to be released first.  More firings were anticipated on Monday with the conclusion of the 2021-22 regular NFL season.

The decision to fire Fangio came less than 24 hours after the Broncos punctuated a 7-10 season with a 28-24 loss to the division rival Kansas City Chiefs.

The Broncos went 19-30 in three seasons under Fangio, finishing last in the AFC West in each of the past two seasons.

SportsBetting had these head coaches with the shortest odds heading into January.

Matt Nagy                   -250

Joe Judge                    +200

Matt Rhule                  +650

Mike Zimmer              +1000
