It was a tough week for the Big 12 as far as the College Football Playoff and rankings go, and two of the teams who need bounce-back wins face off this week. The No. 14 Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-1, 3-1) travel to face the Kansas State Wildcats (4-2, 4-1), and one team will leave in first place in the conference.

The Saturday kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan., and will be televised on FOX.

The Cowboys lead the series 40-26 thanks to a 26-13 home win last September. That win stopped a two-game Kansas State win streak, and the Cowboys last won in Manhattan in 2016.

The Wildcats are 3-1 at home in this series since 2012 and have scored at least 29 points in eight of the last nine against OSU.

The offense is 24th in rushing (198.6 yards per game), 28th in total yards (440.6 yards per game) and 51st in scoring (29.6 points per game).

The Cowboys fell from the unbeaten ranks at home Saturday with a 41-34 overtime loss to Texas. The loss dropped Oklahoma State from No. 6 to No. 14 in the national rankings and into a three-way Big 12 tie with Iowa State and Kansas State.

In his second game back from injury, quarterback Spencer Sanders threw for 400 yards on 27-of-39 passing. He had four touchdowns and one interception and was sacked five times. In three games this season, he has 658 passing yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions.

Quarterback Skylar Thompson missed his third straight game Saturday and is out for the season. Freshman Will Howard filled in, going 19-for-37 for 184 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Howard has 741 passing yards in five games with four touchdowns and four interceptions.
