It’s been another wacky NFL season and we still have a few weeks left to play. One constant has been the picks of wise guys we’ve followed all year and they came through again for us last week to line our pockets. We hit on two of our three games to rebound nicely from a down week. The winners kept us in the black and we’ll look to see where the wise guys will win us money during Week 15.

While most NFL fans were counting on Aaron Rodgers to tear apart the Washington defense, wise guys had other ideas. Taking the under on the Green Bay-Washington matchup proved to be beneficial when the teams fell well below the total in the Packers’ 20-15 triumph. Win No. 1. The Chargers have had a lot of bad luck this year; the Jaguars have been just bad. Taking the Bolts minus the 3.5-points was another wise guy winner. It probably didn’t help their playoff chances but the victory helped the collective psyche of the club after losing the previous three games – all against AFC West foes – by a combined 12 points.

A sign of the wackiness was the Houston-Denver tilt. Coming off a big win over New England the previous week and fighting for the top of the AFC South, the Texans should have entered with all the momentum against the 4-win Broncos. Instead it was a disaster for Deshaun Watson and Co., who trailed 38-3 in the third quarter before succumbing 38-24 as an 8-point favorite.

Several pivotal matchups dot the Week 15 landscape and we’ll scour every one of them to see where sharp action is impacting the line or total. NFL Week 15 Wise Guy Picks

Philadelphia Eagles ( -4.5, 40 ) at Washington Redskins

The Eagles are tied for first in the NFC East, but their 6-7 record and less than inspiring play over the course of the season hasn’t instilled a lot of confidence. Philly opened -6 for the division showdown with Washington and received a majority of early action because the Skins aren’t very good. Going against the public is a sign that wise guys are backing the hosts.

With a contest in Arlington against the Cowboys in Week 16, this is a prime lookahead spot for the Eagles. And as we’ve seen in losses to Miami, Detroit and Atlanta, Philly can’t overlook any opponent. The Skins have looked better of late beating Detroit and Carolina before the streak came to an end against the Packers last week. They covered in all three and are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games.

New England Patriots ( -9, 41 ) at Cincinnati Bengals

This is an odd one, but then again it’s been a wacky NFL season. The Patriots surfaced as an 11-point favorite against the worst team in the league and over 70 percent of the betting public expects Tom Brady to emerge from a funk that’s seen the Pats lose two straight and three of their last five. New England looks vulnerable, though, and Brady is showing his age over the past few games, which is why wise guys are apparently backing the Bengals since the spread dropped to New England -9.

Is it time to be worried about the Pats? They haven’t lost two in a row in like ... forever, and they rarely lose at home, and the offense has been downright awful during the current slumber. We’ve written them off in the past when something like this happened. As a matter of fact it was just last season. There’s a different vibe this time and those cheating allegations aren’t going to help. They may influence the Bengals enough to stay close that’s what wise guys are counting on.

Buffalo Bills at Pittsburgh Steelers (-2, 36.5 )

You think this game doesn’t mean anything? Think again. The two wild card holders in the AFC are separated by a game in the standings and the Bills have visions of ending New England’s run atop the East. The game opened as a tossup and the Bills got lots of early support from the public. Despite that the line moved to Pittsburgh -2 as the red-hot Steelers look for their fourth straight triumph. Wise guys are banking on that happening.

The Bills are a big surprise resting at 9-4 after having their three-game win streak stopped last week by the Ravens. And they’ve struggled against quality defensive teams, which is exactly what the Steelers are. Oddsmakers aren’t expecting a lot of offense with the total the lowest on the Week 15 board at 36.5. But wise guys are betting that the Steelers win this game on their home turf.
