When the Golden State Warriors are good, they’re really good. When they’re bad, they tend to stink up the joint. The good parts have been spearheaded by two-time MVP Stephen Curry, who is on a run of play that’s even spectacular for his standards. And the wins have followed for the Dubs. Unfortunately he hasn’t had a lot of help this season and is singlehandedly trying to lead his club to a playoff spot. The Warriors can inch closer to that goal with a win over the resurgent Boston Celtics when the clubs meet Saturday in primetime on ABC.  Bookmaker.eu offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $1600).

Odds Analysis

Playing at home and coming off a successful road trip, the Celtics will be a slight favorite in this matchup. But facing a hot Curry and the Warriors could be cause for concern. Following a stretch where they went 2-8 SU and ATS, the Warriors have four straight payout wins getting them back to .500. They’ve lost the last four hookups with the Celtics going 1-3 ATS in those games as they look to improve on their 11-18 SU and ATS road record. Boston might be playing its best basketball of the season, at least it’s best since the start of the season when they bolted out to an 8-3 SU and 7-4 ATS mark. The turning point came in Denver when the Celtics overcame a double-digit second half deficit and held the Nuggets to just eight points in the fourth quarter of a 105-87 payout. The Celtics have typically been a strong team inside the Garden, however they are 17-10 SU and 15-12 ATS on the parquet floor this season.

Golden State Warriors

If the Warriors do reach the postseason it will be because of Curry. He’s the hottest player in the league right now leading the Warriors on a four-game surge. Since returning to the lineup after missing a few games with a bruised tailbone, he scored at least 32 points in eight straight games topped by a 53-point effort against the Nuggets when he became the franchise’s all-time scoring leader. He added 43 points the next game against OKC making a combined 21 three-pointers in those games. Apparently the rest did him well.

The Warriors have shown they can dominate teams at or below their level. They are 16-6 against team. with a below .500 record with three of their last four wins over Cleveland, OKC and Houston. When the competition stiffens is when the Dubs struggle. They’ve beaten Milwaukee and Denver this month, but overall they are 11-22 against teams with a winning record. And they’ve struggled against the Celtics losing four straight while playing below the closing total in each of the last 10 matchups.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics have their pieces in place, and according to Brad Stevens they are becoming a cohesive unit. They missed Kemba Walker at the start of the season while he recovered from off-season knee surgery. Marcus Smart missed a number of games due to injury and Jayson Tatum spent time adhering to COVID safety and health protocols. With the band back together the Celtics beat Portland 116-115 on Tuesday, their fourth straight and sixth in seven games to put them three-games over .500 for the first time since early February when they were 12-9. They are 4-2-1 ATS in that span.

Boston continued its success over the Warriors running its winning streak to four with a 111-107 road win on Feb. 2, covering the 2.5-point line. Tatum scored 27 points in that game and he’s been on fire lately as he recovers from his bout with COVID. He dropped 53 on the Wolves last week and had 32, including a clutch bucket late in the win over Portland. Even during Golden State’s glory years the Celtics were a problem. Between the 2015-16 season and the 2018-19 campaign, the Celtics went 4-3 SU and 5-2 ATS playing as the underdog each time.

Bet Warriors at Celtics at BookMaker.eu

Both teams are playing good basketball entering this meeting. We often hear that the first game back from a road trip is the hardest one, but the Celtics have been waiting to play like this for a few months. And I doubt they are going to let it pass. We’ve also seen the Celtics tighten up defensively, another byproduct of having their roster intact. As long as they don’t allow Curry to go off for 50 the Celtics will get a victory.

NBA Score Prediction: Celtics 115, Warriors 108
