If the Denver Nuggets didn’t have to play Golden State they’d be in a much better position right now. Despite the loss of Jamal Murray, the Nugs are on a roll having won four straight and eight of their last nine games. Their only loss during that span was to the Dubs and a setback to the same club preceded the current run. It also sets up a battle for their in the Western Conference when Denver visits the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. Denver is one game behind in the standings and both are also within striking distance of the Jazz and Suns for the top two slots in the conference standings. Odds Analysis

The Nuggets have survived without Murray and Will Barton winning four straight following their 121-111 payout over Toronto on Thursday. They are 2-2 ATS in that span but just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games. It shows how close those games have been with the Nuggets playing as the favorite each time. The season series is even at 1-1 with the Nuggets claiming a 101-94 payout in LA on Apr. 1. The Clippers struck first with a 121-108 road cover back in December. Denver has had the upperhand recently winning four of the last five encounters going 4-1 ATS in that stretch. The Clips look to end a two-game slide after falling to New Orleans and Phoenix on the road. They had won 11 of their previous 12 before the skid. LA is 0-3 ATS in its last three games and 1-4 ATS over its last five. They do have the second-most home wins among Western Conference teams posting a 24-8 SU and 20-12 ATS record at Staples Center.

Denver Nuggets

Just a few weeks ago it looked like the Nuggets season could be in peril. They lost to the Warriors in a game they were favored by 5-points but more importantly they lost second-leading scorer Murray to a knee injury late in the fourth quarter with the outcome already decided. Instead of bowing their heads and feeling sorry for themselves the Nuggets collectively picked up their game and rattled off four straight wins after that. A return to the scene of Murray’s injury may have been too emotional with another defeat handed them by Steph Curry and the Dubs. How did Denver respond? Quite well, thank you. They rattled off another four-game winning streak.

Needing contributions throughout the roster in the loss of Murray and the absence of Barton, the Nuggets have received that. Michael Porter Jr. has supplied plenty of offense hitting the 20-point mark for the fifth straight game with 23 against Toronto. He closed the month of April with his 14th 20-point game and averaged 24 points in the 16 contests. Nikola Jokic is making a case for league MVP with his impressive play. Joker had 32 points and a key defensive play to give the Nuggets a 114-112 win over New Orleans on Wednesday. Jokic is going for the team triple-crown with highs of 26.3 points, 10.9 rebounds and 8.7 assists.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers will likely be without Kawhi Leonard again as they try to end a two-game losing streak. Leonard has missed the last five games and nine of the last 10 with a foot injury. The Clips are 11-7 SU in the 18 games he hasn’t played this season. Patrick Beverley and Serge Ibaka are also currently out of the lineup dealing with injuries. LA did a nice job prior to the current slide winning 11 of 12 game thanks in large part to Paul George. PG13 has taken over as the go-to guy on offense with Kawhi sidelined and is averaging 23.7 points for the season.

All five starters reached double figures against in the loss to the Suns, which dropped the Clippers two games behind Phoenix for the second seed in the West. They are facing another swing game in the standings in this tilt. The Clips are one game up in the win column for No. 3 with both clubs sitting at 21 defeats. The Clippers are hoping a return to Staples Center helps them snap their slide. They’ve won seven in a row at home going 6-1 ATS. Ironically, their last home loss was to Denver on Apr. 1, 101-94, as a 2-point favorite.

Bet Nuggets at Clippers at BookMaker.eu

The Clippers have good record at home and they need a good effort against a strong team to end their two-game slide. When facing adversity, Tyronn Lue relies on his defense and the Clips need a sparkling performance on that side of the floor. They’ve been good this season and I expect they’ll come out with a sense of desperation. The UNDER is 7-1-1 in the last nine series games and I don’t anticipate that changing.

NBA Score Prediction: Clippers 107, Nuggets 102

NBA Betting May 10, 2021 – Utah Jazz at Golden State Warriors

With one week left in the regular season it’s all about playoff positioning for the teams still in the hunt. The Utah Jazz and Golden State Warriors are jockeying for different spots in the Western Conference.

NBA Betting May 7, 2021 – Los Angeles Lakers at Portland Trail Blazers

The Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers will both be playing after the regular season concludes. We just don’t know if they’ll be in the top-six or in the play-in tournament. LA and Portland are two of three teams vying for the final two playoff spots with the club missing out being relegated to the play-in.

NBA Betting May 6, 2021 – Brooklyn Nets at Dallas Mavericks

NBA Betting May 6, 2021 – Brooklyn Nets at Dallas Mavericks

If the Dallas Mavericks are relegated to the play-in tournament they can lay the blame on one of the worst teams in the Western Conference. The Mavs enter their contest with the Brooklyn Nets having won seven of their last 10 games with the three defeats all coming at the hands of the Sacramento Kings.

NBA Betting May 4, 2021 – Toronto Raptors at Los Angeles Clippers

NBA Betting May 4, 2021 – Toronto Raptors at Los Angeles Clippers

The new play-in format has the Toronto Raptors in line to potentially compete for a spot in the postseason. That’s good news for a club that has plodded along for most of the campaign. While there are some who detest the play-in the Raps certainly aren’t one of them. They enter the week 2.5 games out of the 10th spot and continue a difficult stretch of games against Western Conference foes with Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers

NBA Betting May 3, 2021 – Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers

NBA Betting May 3, 2021 – Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are in a freefall that even their two best players have been unable to get them out of. We all thought they would return to their early season ways once Anthony Davis and LeBron James returned, but that hasn’t happened.
