Jason Sudeikis is a big 1-25 odds favorite to win Best Comedy series for his role in Ted Lasso, but that's not stopping the gambling public from getting down on him at such a steep price.

BetOnline has revealed that Sudekis is seeing the most action of any other nomination this year.

Ted Lasso is an American sports comedy-drama streaming television series airing on Apple TV developed by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly.  It follows an American college football coach who is hired to coach an English soccer team in an attempt by its owner to spite her ex-husband with Lasso attempting to win over the skeptical English market despite having little knowledge of soccer.

Sudeikis created the character and first played him in 2013 as part of a promo for NBC, which had recently acquired the television rights to the Premier League and was trying to drum up American interest in English football.

Sudeikis was named one of the most influential people of 2021.

While the praise is nice, Sudeikis said he would gladly trade it all in for things to return to normal in this Covid-ravaged time.

“If I had my choice I’d rather Kids could of gone to school, couples could have gone on date nights, you know we all could have gone to see plays and movies and small businesses could have kept, you know, trucking along. That would have been my preference,” Sudeikis said.
