Now that we have some analytical data to study the hope is that we can make smarter wagers and win some money at online sportsbooks during the college football season. Another way to do that would be to follow the wise guys. Offshore sportsbooks pay closer attention to wise guys than they do the average bettor. Wise guys can influence a betting line in any sport, and when they do make a wager the books are watching.

*Up to $2000 welcome bonus
*Payouts in just a few hours with certain funding methods
*Highest betting limits on the Web
*Accessible from most US states (prohibited in NJ)
*Best in-play betting all NBA, NHL Playoffs games
*In business since 1986

It’s not always easy to tell what a wise guy is up to, but paying close attention the to line and the handle can help you make a smarter wager. We tracked a few wise guy plays last week and sure enough their play came through in two of the three games we highlighted. Sharps backed Clemson, which narrowly covered against Georgia Tech. They also favored Auburn in its clash with Oregon. The Tigers scored with nine seconds left to win the game and cover the 3.5-point spread. It doesn’t matter when the points are scored or by how many a team wins by, as long as the outcome is in your favor.

Week 2 of the college football season has some enticing matchups with a top-10 battle between No. 6 LSU and No. 9 Texas. Another contest featuring ranked teams has No. 12 Texas AM at No. 1 Clemson. Both of those heavyweight battles are sure to get a lot of attention.

Let’s take a look at a few games on the Week 2 schedule where the sharps have impacted the line. And remember, BookMaker will have spreads and totals for every FBS matchup during the 2019 season. Visit BookMaker.eu when you’re ready to throw down on your favorite college football team.

College Football Week 2 Wise Guy Picks

Buffalo at Penn State ( -29.5, 54.5 ), Saturday, September 7, 7:30 p.m. ET

Squares don’t typically move the line when it comes to wagering so if there is significant movement that’s another indication that sharps are hitting it. There are other factors that can impact a line, but with none of those present we have to assume the wise guys are playing along. And that’s exactly what we have for this matchup.

Penn State had to replace a number of players on both sides of the ball and the Nittany Lions are easing into the 2019 campaign. Installed as a 42-point favorite against FCS Idaho last week, PSU showed how explosive it can be by waltzing to a 79-7 victory. The win doesn’t answer all the questions, but it does provide us with some insight. The Nittany Lions have talent and bettors are taking notice. They opened as a 24-point favorite and saw the line skyrocket 5.5-points to its current number.

Miami, Fla. ( -4.5, 47.5 ) at North Carolina, Saturday, September 7, 8 p.m. ET

It’s a subtle move, but significant nonetheless. The Hurricanes opened as a 6-point road favorite for their ACC tilt with North Carolina and they were getting a majority of the action on the early line. Suddenly we saw the spread fall to UM -4.5 in a sign that sharps are backing the Tar Heels. Both sides had some struggles in their openers and in name-only the Canes are the team to back. However, to cash a winning ticket you can’t bet on a name.

The Canes had difficulty moving the football and their quarterback situation is fluid. That’s not the case with UNC, which is having a rebirth under Mack Brown. The Heels stunned South Carolina as a 12.5-point dog and has a QB in freshman Sam Howell. This is turning out to be a big game in the ACC Coastal, which has no clear-cut favorite.

LSU ( -5.5, 55 ) at Texas, Saturday, September 7, 7:30 p.m. ET

With both teams ranked among the top-10 in the latest AP poll, this figures to be the marquee matchup of the Week 2 schedule and will get plenty of action. LSU and Texas did what they needed to last week coming away with easy cover wins. Folks are buying what Tom Herman is selling and the Horns were getting a majority of the early action as 4.5-point dogs on the opening line. A defense with eight new starters dominated La. Tech and fans in the Lone Star State have been waiting for this one.

The Tigers showed off their new spread offense and lambasted Georgia Southern, 55-3, with Joe Burrow tossing more touchdowns (5) than incomplete passes (4). And don’t overlook LSU’s defense, which is one of the best in the SEC. You can sometimes get a bargain on the early lines and wise guys scooped up the Tigers, pushing the spread to LSU -5.5. The Tigers are a complete team and they should get a cover win.
