The Pistons bought out point guard Reggie Jackson and he will reportedly sign with the Clippers. They were after free agent point guard Darren Collison but he decided to stay retired. This opened a roster for Jackson to fill.

Jackson has averaged 14.9 points, 5.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 27.2 minutes over 14 games with the Pistons this season. He shoots 38.4 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 78.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Clippers didn’t really need to add more players but Jackson can provide an additional spark off the bench in the playoffs and signing him also keeps him away from the Lakers.

As of this writing, the Clippers are currently five games behind the Lakers for first place in the Western Conference. They’ve won their two meetings with them this season though and they will play against them two more times.

Clippers head coach Doc Rivers recently said that he loved their current roster. Acquiring Marcus Morris without trading Landry Shamet was a sensational move and adding Jackson gives them even more depth.
