UFC Fight Night: Velasquez vs. Stojnic Most Lopsided Bout

Cain Velasquez

It remains to be seen how big of a draw UFC Fight Night and one of its bouts -Velasquez vs. Stojnic - will be among bettors, who were providing plenty of action during last weekend's UFC marquee event.  A win by Denis Stojnic would be huge with a payout potential close to $500 for every $100 bet.

But that won't happen according to the folks at BetUS.com who have Cain Velasquez as the huge -650 favorite.

"Stojnic is an unknown commodity and the spotlight might be a little hot on his back and this will be his first fight in the primetime. What seems to be known about him is that he is a pretty good striker, but his ground game is a mystery.

Pundits seem to think that his ground game is non-existent, which means he could be in some serious trouble against a wrestler who would love nothing more than to end it on the mat.

"Velasquez has a good history of ending fights in the first round, so if you have a UFC prop for Velasquez in a first round knockout, you might want to take a look at it. Otherwise, this matchup looks like it is a stepping stone for Velasquez, who appears poised for bigger and better things. Stojnic is unknown but him pulling the surprise is unlikely, especially if he can't take Velasquez to the ground."

"There will be a break for your wallet this week as 'UFC Fight Night 17' from Tampa, FL comes our way free of charge on Spike TV at 9pm EST Saturday night," writes Jason Bent of MMA Torch. "This isn't exactly the sort of card that has anyone salivating, as this one lacks star power as well as recognizable names, but it is well put together from top to bottom.
