UFC 111 Odds on Saturday features Georges St-Pierre defending his welterweight title against Dan Hardy.  St-Pierre has simply been dominant in the UFC, winning 12 of his last 13 fights.  He has no real challengers in this division and although Hardy talks a lot, this fight shouldn't be any different.  The UFC odds at SBG Global list St-Pierre as a -800 favorite.

St-Pierre has beaten everyone that is considered a contender in the welterweight division.  He has dominated Jon Fitch, Thiago Alves and Josh Koscheck and they are the next three behind St-Pierre in the welterweight rankings. Hardy is ranked sixth.  St-Pierre is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC and one of the most popular fighters. "You get Brock (Lesnar), Georges St-Pierre, BJ Penn, Chuck Liddell," UFC President Dana White said, "Forrest Griffin's in there, too. Those are the top five."

The co-feature on Saturday in UFC 111 Odds has Frank Mir battling Shane Carwin for the Interim Heavyweight title.  The winner is expected to get a shot against champion Brock Lesnar in a few months. Mir is a -150 favorite in UFC odds at SBG Global.  Carwin doesn't have as much experience but he may have more power and could pull off the slight upset.

Also on the main card is a bout between Jon Fitch and Ben Saunders.  It was supposed to be Thiago Alves against Fitch but Alves was pulled after a pre-fight medical exam.  Give Saunders a ton of credit for filling in at the last minute.   Fitch has only lost once in his career and that was to St-Pierre.  Saunders has the power to pull off the upset if he can keep this fight upright.  Fitch is a 4-1 favorite at SBG.

Jim Miller takes on Mark Bocek in a lightweight battle that is also on the main card. Miller has the edge when this fight is upright while Bocek has the edge on the mat.  Miller is a 4-1 favorite.  The other fight on the main card has Kurt Pellegrino favored against Fabricio Camoes.  Pellegrino has the experience but he could get caught by Camoes who is a submission expert.

The preliminary card includes Rory Markham against Nate Diaz, Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Brown, Rodney Wallace vs. Jared Hamman, Rousimar Palhares vs. Tomasz Drwal and Matthew Riddle vs. Greg Soto.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
