Rory McIlroy Odds of Winning the 2011 US Open Championship

Once again Rory McIlroy sat atop the leaderboard of the 2011 US Open Championship heading into Saturday’s play.  McIlroy odds of winning the Championship were at 20 to 1 coming into Thursday.

It’s not over yet as McIlroy has a history of leading at Majors and failing to get the job done in the end.

'It's definitely not over yet,'' said Australian golfer Marc Leishman after posting an even-par total, 11 behind McIlroy.

''You never know what can happen. I'm sure they'll toughen the course up, greens will be firmer and pins will be tougher. The pressure is on Rory.''

Y.E. Yang, meanwhile, remained very much in the hunt and second down on the leaderboard.  His odds Saturday morning were still at a respectable 8 to 1.

Yang was the only player in the U.S. Open closer than 9 strokes away from 36-hole leader McIlroy after Friday’s play.

"I didn't even know his score when I teed off," said Yang, the 2009 PGA champion. "I just played my game. It actually enabled me to concentrate on my own game, so secretly I'm very happy that I had another under-par round."

Matt Kuchar had odds of 20 to 1, tied in third while Zach Johnson was listed with 40 to 1 odds, also tied at third.

Others towards the top of the leaderboard after Friday included Sergio Garcia, whose odds were set at 35 to 1 and Robert Garrigus at 60 to 1.

McIlroy odds of winning the 2011 US Open Championship were slashed to 1/3 Saturday morning.
