There will be plenty of online betting taking place in the Windy City of Chicago and many a website taking wagers from those who reside here as well.

Online wagering sites operate outside the United States, some of them in business for more than 20 years.

While those companies based out of Europe tend not to target the US market, licensed online betting sites headquartered in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia often do.

As would be expected, Chicago sports bettors tend to back their home town teams and, in more recent years, there has been plenty to celebrate.

The Cubs won the World Series in 2016, the first time in over a hundred years.

The Chicago Blackhawks finished the 2017 NHL season with a respectable 50-23 record.

The Bulls, meanwhile, finished the season at the .500 mark.

Looking ahead to the NFL season, the Bears had very long odds of winning Super Bowl 52 at 125-1 but look forward to a prosperous future moving forward with top draft pick Mitchell Trubisky.

The best bets for Chicago will be on the Regular Season Wins Total OVER/UNDER and quite possibly the division

Entering the 2017 NFL season the Bears would pay out $12 for every $10 bet should they win OVER 5.5 regular season games.  They would pay out $200 on a $20 bet with a win in the NFC North.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
