Minnesota Vikings

This NFL betting preview is one we at Gambling911.com are quite excited about.  Even with this being a meaningless game for the New York Giants, the Minnesota Vikings have already demonstrated that they can play well against New York based on past head-to-head history between these two teams.

The Giants vs. Vikings game featured a line of Vikings -7 at SBG Global after opening at -6 ½ earlier in the week.  The Total was 42.

Minnesota actually crushed the Giants on the road last year so they can certainly do it again this weekend, at least we would think this to be the case.  In the last 10 games of this series, the two teams have split wins while the Vikings won their last two games against New York.

The Minnesota Vikings can clinch the NFC North with a win on Sunday as they host the New York Giants.  Minnesota can also win the division if the Bears lose at Houston.  The Vikings got a big break last week as the Giants won against Carolina clinching the #1 seed in the NFC, making this game meaningless for New York. The Vikings haven't won the division since 2000. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Giants on the Road. In fact, Gambling911.com has reviewed action at other online sportsbooks, revealing that the Giants were one of the most heavily bet on teams of the weekend, at least early on.

The question in this game is how long the New York starters will play. "Our basic philosophy is that we want to win every game and that's where our mentality should be," head coach Tom Coughlin said. "We will be smart about any advice we get from our medical people."  New York players that could miss the game are cornerback Aaron Ross, running back Brandon Jacobs, receiver Domenik Hixon, defensive end Justin Tuck and defensive tackle Fred Robbins.

Minnesota is led by the league's top rusher in Adrian Peterson but all is not well for Peterson who has fumbled five times in the last three games. "When you look at the position we're in, it's getting close to the playoffs so guys are going to do whatever they can do to get that ball out," said Peterson. The Giants have the better rushing offense with Jacobs and Derrick Ward leading the way.  Last week they had 301 yards rushing against Carolina.

The Giants have won the last three games against Minnesota in the Metrodome.  Here are more NFL betting stats for Sunday's game. The Giants are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games as a road underdog. The Giants are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 road games. The Giants are 36-15-2 ATS in their last 53 vs. the NFC. The underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between the two teams. The road team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings

The Vikings are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite. The Vikings are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. the NFC. The Vikings are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in December.

The Under is 7-2 in the Giants last 9 games as a road underdog. The Over is 7-3-1 in the Giants last 11 games following a win.
