Cleveland Browns

This NFL betting preview between the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns is courtesy of SBG Global  with an opening line of: Browns  -  3  ,  Total  46.5

The time has come in Cleveland for quarterback Brady Quinn.  After playing behind Derek Anderson last season and for the first eight games this season, Quinn will get the start on Thursday as the Browns host the Denver Broncos.  Anderson was a Pro-Bowler last season but has looked lost most of the time this year.  He was 17 of 33 on Sunday for 219 yards against the Ravens but threw an interception to Terrell Suggs that was run in for a touchdown that clinched the game for Baltimore.  "It's deflating when they run the ball in for a touchdown," head coach Romeo Crennel said, "It's deflating when they throw the ball over your head. It's deflating when you don't make a catch in the open. It's deflating when you lose a game." Thursday's game is the first of the regular season for the NFL Network so get used to Thursday night action the rest of the season. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Broncos on the Road.

Cleveland is just 27th in the NFL in offense and head coach Crennel decided it was time for Quinn.  It is a short week for Quinn but he does get to face a Denver defense that is terrible.  The Broncos are 29th in the league and haven't stopped anyone all season.  It won't get any better for the Broncos on defense considering they lost weak-side linebacker D.J. Williams to injury against Miami.  He was the leading tackler for Denver this season.

Denver is already without Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey, who's out at least a month, and his brother, Boss, who's out for the season.  They could also be without safety Marlon McCree who was hurt this past Sunday.  The injuries carry over to the offense as running backs Andre Hall (left hand) and Michael Pittman (neck) were placed on IR this week.

SBG Global Current Line: Browns  -  3  ,  Total  46

The Broncos have won all three meetings since Cleveland got a team again including the only meeting in Cleveland in 2006. Denver is 2-1 against the spread in those matchups.  Their one pointspread loss was at Denver. Two of those games went over the total. The only game in Cleveland in 2006 did go under as the Broncos won 17-7. Here are more NFL betting stats for Thursday's game.  The Browns are over 70% as a home favorite the past three years.  The Broncos have gone over the total on the road more than 60% of the time the past three years.
