New York Giants Still Favorites to Win 2009 Super Bowl: Titans Have Great Value

New York Giants

It took a loss for the New York Giants to finally gain some respect among online odds makers. That's quite the irony since the Giants had been listed with double digit odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl after a few weeks of wins. Only after Week 4 and concerns over the Dallas Cowboys performance did New York finally start to see their odds slashed.

Likewise, the Tennessee Titans are now the only undefeated team left and they head to Kansas City on Sunday, which should - in theory - allow Tennessee to maintain its undefeated designation. That being said, the +565 odds that were being offered at press time (for a payout of $565 with every $100 bet) are pretty enticing.

Could Atlanta be for real? One of the biggest surprises of the 2008 regular season would pay out handsomely with a Super Bowl win - $7500 for every $100 bet. Let's face it: Nobody had the Falcons playing this good, especially so early in the season.

The same question we can ask of the Arizona Cardinals after beating Dallas at home last week. At +1200 odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl, this team appears to be clicking (finally).

We can't ignore the Cleveland Browns this week either after they became the first team of the 2008 regular season to knock of the New York Giants....pretty decisively we might add. The Browns pay out $7500 for every $100 bet.

And the Indianapolis Colts were finally looking like the team we know from every past year in recent memory. This week, that organization admitted that Peyton Manning did undergo surgery during the summer and his game could have been affected early on. +800 odds might be the best we see for the rest of the season.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
