NBA Betting: Magic vs. Clippers Middling Opportunity

The Orlando Magic vs. LA Clippers NBA betting odds were set between the numbers 3 ½ and 5 ½ heading into Monday afternoon.  What this means to the savvy sports bettor is that a bet can be placed on both sides of this game at two different books with a very nominal risk vs. reward ratio.

Sportsinteraction.com had the Clippers as +5 ½ underdogs. Bookmaker.com had the Magic at -3 ½.  With this line variance, a win by Orlando of either 4 or 5 points would result in a win for both bets.

What are the chances of this happening?

One thing to keep in mind is that Orlando will be playing a surging Portland Trailblazers team tomorrow night.

The Magic are 4-0 ATS against teams with a losing record when playing on the road.   They are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. NBA Pacific.  Of concern, however, is that Orlando is 0-5 ATS on games played Monday nights.

3-8 ATS in their last 11 vs. Eastern Conference and are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.

Of greater interest perhaps is that Orlando beat the Clippers on the road twice over the last 5 games played in LA by 5 points (within that middling range).  While they dismantled them in LA last year, that game was played late in the season.  The two other games played in Los Angeles were won by the home team Clippers.

Gambling911.com says GO WITH THE MIDDLING OPPORTUNITY IN THIS ONE AND HOPE ORLAND WINS BY 4 OR 5 POINTS.  What do you have to lose besides a little vig on the favorite?
