Despite a strong likelihood that the highly anticipated Mayweather Pacquiao fight will not take place on March 13 as previously planned, online sportsbooks are still offering odds that the fight will occur some time before December 31, 2010.  A number of online sportsbooks have already taken significant action on this fight. Some books have stopped taking action for now.  Bookmaker.com was still offering Mayweather Pacquiao fight odds with the following stipulation:

$2000 MAX* BOUT MUST GO ON OR BEFORE DEC 31, 2010 BETS HAVE ACTION REGARDLESS OF WEIGHT OR LOCATION

Floyd Mayweather Jr. had a line of -140 while Manny Pacquiao was listed with +110 odds.

The two fighters recently turned to mediation in a last-ditch bid to save their March 13 super-fight in Las Vegas and a decision was expected within the next few hours.  The dispute has centered on drug testing.

Filipino hero Pacquiao has been infuriated by the insistence of Mayweather and his team at Golden Boy Promotions that both fighters submit to Olympic-style blood testing in the buildup to their pay-per-view extravaganza.  He has threatened a lawsuit as a result.

Online bookmakers are keeping their fingers crossed as they anticipate Mayweather Pacquiao to be among the most heavily bet on events of the year.
