Mayweather – Mosley Fight Makes May 1 a Bettor’s Dream

Mayweather – Mosley Fight

It may not be the mega fight of Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Manny Pacquiao, but make no mistake about it, Mayweather - Mosley will have star power and plenty of wagering activity.

The fight goes off May 1 with oddsmakers at Sportsbetting.com posting a -130 line on Mayweather while Sugar Shane Mosley comes in at even odds.

For the last few months, all the hype has surrounded a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao.  As it turns out, Mosley has even shorter odds than Pacquiao did against Mayweather, Jr. (Pacquiao had been listed as the +130 underdog).  That fight fell through following Mayweather's camp demanding that Pacquiao undergo rigorous Olympic-style drug testing.

Mayweather is also getting his wish for Olympic-style drug testing, including blood testing, in his fight against Mosley, who in the past has tested positive for steroids and testified in the BALCO investigation.  He agreed to all testing, including a blood test on fight night. His only stipulation was that Mayweather submit to the same protocol; Mayweather agreed.

The fight was announced Friday and bookmakers were quick to put up the line.

May 1 will be a busy one for the online bookmakers as the Kentucky Derby goes off that same day.  Books that offer wagering on the Kentucky Derby (some still do not) are likely to see record revenue on this day.  The Derby is the single most wagered on one day sporting event in the United States in terms of number of bets placed along with the Super Bowl.  Last year's Kentucky Derby betting traffic just beat out the Super Bowl for the first time ever.

Get your facts straight

Mayweather did not avoid Shane when Shane was younger. Floyd called him out a few times, and Shane chose to fight De La Hoya instead, because DLH was the biggest draw at that time. And how is Floyd gonna fight Berto when Berto just pulled out of the Mosley fight because of the eartquake in Haiti. That would be in poor taste of Mayweather to challenge a fighter who is grieving over the loss of his loved ones. Mosley is a good fighter, and this will be a good fight. Mayweather by UD

They only have verbal

They only have verbal agreements no signed contract yet so nothing is final. Just like with Pacquiao, they were quick on the verbal agreements but when it came to the signing of the contracts PBF all of a sudden had all those stupid demands. I bet the same thing will happen with Mosley. Mosley agreed to the Olympic style testing, now watch Mayweather make another demand. The guy is a fraud.

Mayweather too scared to challenge good fighters

Why doesn't Mayweather ever fight someone good. Mayweather avoided Mosely when he was younger. Well, now that Mosely is 38 years OLD, Mayweather will finally fight him. Come on Mayweather. Why don't you challenge Berto, the welterweight champ who is UNDEFEATEDat 25-0 and 26 years old. Too scared, huh Mayweather! You'll never see Mayweather make that type of challenge.
