The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers are set to do battle this evening in game five of the Western Conference first round. The one vs. eight matchup has not been as tantalizing as many had hoped as the Warriors have jumped out to an easy three to one lead in the series. Golden State won the first game of the series but then the Clippers battled back for a win in game two 135-131. Since that win, it has been all Warriors as they rolled to a 132-105 win in game three and a 113-105 win in game four. The Warriors lead the all-time series between the two teams as they have a 131-87 advantage over 218 games played. Golden State won three of the four matchups during the regular season and are keeping that streak intact in the playoffs. The only previous playoff match-up was won by the Clippers back in the 2014 playoffs. The Warriors are favored to win this game by 14 points.  When you are making this bet, if you are wanting a successful pay per head bookie software make sure you check out A1pph.com

Warriors Seek to Win Series

Golden State has won two games straight on the road to take control in the series and they are sitting very well as they head into game five. The spread is at 14 points which is the largest in the Steve Kerr era in the last three possible games of a series. There have been four spreads of 14 points or more in game five or later in NBA history. Twice those teams have covered, and twice they have not but in each game the favored team won the game. Golden State has continued their high scoring rate into the playoffs as they have scored 124.3 points a game through the playoffs which sits at the top. With Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson scoring like they have been, it is tough to see a team being able to knock them off. In game four Kevin Durant led the squad with 33 points and Klay Thompson added in 32 points while the Warriors shot 12-of-31 from deep.

Clippers Look to Salvage a Game

Simply put, the Clippers are not in a good spot right now. After splitting the first two games the Clippers dropped both of their home games. This put them very far behind the eight ball as the Warriors rarely lose at home and now have two potential home games left. The Clippers just aren’t scoring the ball at a high enough rate to be able to come back and beat the Warriors. This postseason the Clippers have scored 124.3 points a game which is fifth among all teams. Los Angeles is ninth in field goal percentage and they are looking to improve on that if they want any shot to beat the red hot Warriors. Through the first four games of the series Lou Williams has led the Clippers with 22.3 points a game and has added in 7.3 assists a game. Montrezl Harrell has chipped in 19 points a game and Danilo Gallinari has added in 16 points a game.

Warriors Streaking to Second Round

The Warriors just have too much firepower for the Clippers to overcome and possibly anyone to overcome in the postseason this year. The Warriors have been on a series run over the past couple of years and that isn’t going to stop this year. Fourteen points is a lot to cover but I think that the Warriors are going to be able to cover and run into the second round. Don’t bet against the Warriors on their home floor. Take the Warriors and hope that Lou Williams doesn’t drop 40 points.
