The Indianapolis Colts were listed along with the San Diego Colts second most likely team to win the 2008 AFC Conference Championship at +450 odds for a payout potential of $450 for every $100 bet at SBG Global.

The AFC Southern Division was tight despite the Colts dominance. That's because the Jacksonville Jaguars are featured in this division and they - at +600 odds to win the Conference - are a serious contender this year.

Not surprisingly the Jags are listed with just +150 odds to win the AFC South division and this has actually provided the Colts with some value, listed as a near even favorite at -150. Compare that with the Chargers who require a $400 risk just to win $100 in the AFC West.

We should also mention that the Indianapolis Colts odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl +750. That's an exception $750 payout for every $100 bet should they win.

Quarterback Peyton Manning says he is disappointed that he can't be at training camp. Manning spoke on a conference call Thursday about his recent surgery to remove an infected bursa sac from his left knee. The two-time MVP said he's not sure exactly how long it will take to recover because he's not used to being injured.

Manning had been receiving conservative treatment for an inflamed bursa sac since February, but the pain increased and showed early signs of infection. Manning has never missed a regular season start in 10 pro seasons since being selected by the Colts with the first overall selection in the 1998 draft. He threw for 4,040 yards and 31 touchdowns last season, leading Indianapolis to the AFC South title.

RealGM.com believes the Indianapolis Colts stand a very good shot at winning the 2009 Super Bowl, therefore those +750 odds might be an excellent value

It's pretty simple--Super Bowl Champs. This is one of the top 3 teams in the league, and if all the key parts stay healthy, nothing less than another Super Bowl is a disappointment. Don't expect the team to mail in season-ending games if they've already wrapped up playoff slotting either, which rose up and bit them hard last year.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
