Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina college football betting odds opened at -4  in favor of North Carolina and had only moved up a half point at BetUS.com

It's interesting to point out that Georgia Tech, despite being the underdog here, has the edge in most categories.

They are also 9-1 in this series over the last 10 games.

The Yellow Jackets are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games.  They are also 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.  They only stat against Georgia Tech is the fact that they are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a bye week.

The Tar Heels are Tar Heels are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win and are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win of more than 20 points.

Georgia Tech didn't stay out of the Top 25 for long, points out Larry Hartstein of the Atlanta Constitution.

The Yellow Jackets re-entered after a one-week hiatus, placing No. 20 in the USA Today's coaches poll and No. 22 in the AP media poll. Tech also ranked 20th in the BCS standings.

Tech's heartstopping 31-28 win over Florida State this weekend sets up a noon showdown on Saturday. The Jackets (7-2, 4-2) visit North Carolina (6-2, 2-2), ranked No. 19 in both polls. They are two of five Coastal Division teams with two losses; for now, everyone is chasing Tech.

The Jackets became bowl eligible for the 12th straight year, but defensive end Michael Johnson said that was never the goal. "That's old news, going to a bowl," he said. "We want to compete for championships around here. That's the attitude we want to have and the way we want to carry ourselves, not just going to a bowl. That's nothing."

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
