Georgia Tech vs. Boston College is perhaps the most bet on game of the day. The action is slightly favoring Georgia Tech on the spread, but not by much. 70 percent are on the +6 ½ underdog at Sportsbook.com.

The books will feel a bit of a pinch with a Georgia Tech win since nearly all the money line action was on this team. Georgia Tech winning outright pays just over $200 for every $100 bet.

For Boston College and Georgia Tech, today's meeting at Alumni Stadium is more than the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both. The outcome will provide a directional signal for both teams, who still have identities to clarify, writes Mark Blaudschun of Boston.com.

For Georgia Tech, it is also the start of a new era, under Paul Johnson, who won a pair of national championships at Georgia Southern and made Navy competitive and annoying with his triple-option offense.

The Yellow Jackets breezed past Jacksonville State, 41-14, in their opener, and that also proved nothing.

But it will be life in the fast lane against BC for Johnson's team, which is dominated by freshmen and sophomores who are adjusting to a new offensive system.

Johnson's system is viewed as run-based, using the passing game only when necessary. Earlier this week, Johnson laughed at that perception.

"The thing I found out, which was so ironic, is that everyone figured out what we were going to do way before the season," said Johnson. "I mean, we hadn't played a game and I read all year that we were not going to throw the ball.

"We may play some games where we throw the ball 30 times. We may play some games where we throw it five. It depends on the team we are playing."

By Saturday morning, nearly every sports book was on the -6 ½ line but some online gambling websites had this one off the board as well.
