Free NFL Picks - 2008 Week 6

Miami Dolphins
Oct 8 2008 - 8:55pm

Each week Gambling911.com brings its readers insider information from one of the leading online sports books, Sports Interaction, as to which teams everyone is betting on as well as a few free NFL picks from SIA "insider" extraordinaire, Frank Doyle. We have Free NFL picks for 2008 Week 6

The first line that stands out when you look at the prices for the Week 6 games is Miami +3 at Houston. That strikes me as a really surprising line. Houston gets the three point start for being the home team, but I would have thought those wins against New England and San Diego would count for a point or two in the Dolphins' favor. Houston has been scoring, but it seems to me that Gary Kubiak has a quarterback problem on his hands now, while the Dolphins are so hot they must be sorry that they can't play a game every day. The wildcat formation won't always work for Miami and Chad Pennington hasn't morphed into Dan Marino overnight but right now it's getting a laugh and it stays in the show. Miami +3 at Houston with Sports Interaction is the bet.

Dallas at Arizona is one of the games of the weekend, but it's very hard to pick a winner between two teams that have been as inconsistent as both the Cowboys and Cards have been, and whose quarterbacks has such profound issues in terms of ball protection - Tony Romo has thrown a pick in eight straight games, while Kurt Warner coughed it up eight times against the Jets alone in Week 4. However, both men can light up the scoreboard too and, with defenses that can be loose on both sides, I think the bet here is to go over the total points. Sports Interaction has set a total points scored in this game of 49.5, the highest on the board this week, but I'm going to swing for the fences. Over 49.5 total points between Dallas and Arizona is the pick.

The final pick for this weekend is another totals bet, but this time the under on St Louis' visit to Washington. Detroit is the only team worse than St Louis at the moment, but the Rams might show more fight under a new head coach and it's hard to know if Washington is set up to run up scores to cover a double-digit handicap. So, taking math on our side, the supposition is that we'll be seeing a lot of rushing in this game, and that should keep the total points score under the 44.5 set by Sports Interaction.
