Edgerrin James has landed in Seattle and will be playing with the Seahawks. It's a one-year, $2 million deal, according to Pro Football Talk.

The James deal might give Seattle a chance at winning the NFC West at 2/1 odds.

The Cardinals initially declined to grant James his release, cutting him only after securing Beanie Wells with the 31st pick in the 2009 draft.
James currently has the eleventh highest career rushing total in league history.

But will Edgerrin James be enough to help the Seahawks regain their former glory.
There were not only injuries last season but tons of discontent.  One time Seahawks fullback Leonard Weaver told the St. Louis Post Dispatch that there was locker room division between new coach Jim Mora Jr. followers and departing coach Mike Holmgren acolytes.  The team finished 4-12 last year and they might not be improving any time soon despite the weak NFC West division.

Now comes word of new problems facing the Seattle Seahawks.

Mora announced that left tackle Walter Jones will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery after missing nearly all of training camp because of the injury.
Center Chris Spencer is out at least a month for a torn thigh muscle.
The team will also be without cornerback Marcus Trufant indefinitely because of a "disc issue" in his back.

Oddsmakers at Sportsbetting.com like the Seahawks to win OVER 8 games.  Gambling911.com still says go with the +115 on the UNDER despite the signing of James.  This is a banged up team with low morale.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
