The Boilermakers are going to have to really work for this one, and while they have a good defensive set, they will need to make sure that they are not making casual mistakes or letting their guard down because they can easily be made to pay. Purdue doesn’t exactly have the greatest passing defense now, but then again, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t make some key plays. Purdue will need to step up against Wisconsin here or else the score can easily turn lopsided.
There are some issues to work out on the offensive side of both teams, with neither one really getting too much of an edge, when you break things down. Sure, Purdue seems to have serious issues with moving the ball at times, and they aren’t as confident as Wisconsin is at times, but they can pull it together and do some damage when it counts. The Boilermakers have inexperienced athletes they are relying on, and that’s what is going to hurt the most.

Ok, let’s talk seriously for a moment. The game is going to be one sided, and while we’ve tried to be fair here, it’s hard to discount just how good Wisconsin is at rushing. Their ground game is just tough, with Melvin Gordon and James White taking the ball and doing damage. The mediocre offense that Purdue is bringing will not be enough overall, it’s just not going to be. They gave up 400 yards to opponents except one, and that’s not a good stat to have about you. We may love underdogs but this is too far of a gap. Purdue would have to be 100% perfect, do everything right, and even then they would lose by a few points. It’s for that reason that we have to go with the favored Wisconsin team at – 24.
