Current line: Philadelphia -3 / Over & Under at 50 ½

Time:  Thursday, September 19 8:25 (EST) NFL Network

Summary:

This Thursday night in primetime, week 3 of the NFL is going to surmount to being a powder keg of emotions. Andy Reid returns to Philadelphia for the first time after getting the boot last season. Even though he had great success, he is now the coach of the Chiefs and he’s going to be looking for his team to one up the Eagles so that they can go up 3 – 0 for the season. The Eagles have been dropping bombs offensively, so don’t look at them to be an easy win for the Chiefs. That being said, the defense will most likely be on high alert to trap the offense of Philadelphia and create something great overall.

Philadelphia threw up 500 yards of total offense last week and will most likely be trying to get another great option going here, but remember last week’s game turned into a shootout where they lost in the end. Experts may be torn here, but there seems to be one overall strong point here and that’s the storyline being touted as Andy Reid’s return.

If you look at the numbers, the teams both have some major points of success and failure, which makes this matchup is going to be interesting to note. Even though there is a distraction of sorts with the Reid storyline, he’s not the one on the field, and he’s not the one that has to make the plays go over well. He has to show some leadership skills, and he’s done it many times in the past. The key for the chiefs is to make sure they minimize the penalties, and stop the turn overs, if they can remain there, things could look quite good overall.

The Match Up:

On paper these two teams are somewhat even in terms of injuries, and offensive weapons. The key to getting the most out of the game will be up to the finer points of the game. Michael Vick’s performance will either help the team soar or drop, and while it’s early on in the season, he’s definitely making some killer moves, so expect another great performance there. The Chiefs are good, and will put on a show, if they can avoid silly mistakes. The strength here goes to the Eagles, and look for scoring to go over 50 combined.

The Edge:

Philadelphia -3 is our pick.

SportsCashSystem.com Prediction: Philadelphia -3
