MLB Betting Lines – Free Pick: Under 10-4 Rays at Home, 17-4 Orioles on Road
We are off to a horrible start this month with our MLB picks going 1-4. Let’s try to get this ship back on course.
The UNDER is 10-4 in Tampa Bay’s last 14 home games and 17-4 in Baltimore’s last 21 road games.
Obviously the UNDER would have a tremendous edge here but let’s examine further.
The UNDER for this game is 7. Three of the last four games have gone UNDER that number.
Only twice in the Orioles last nine road games did they manage to score more than 4 runs. Five of those games, Baltimore scored 2 or fewer.
Only once in the Rays last eight home games did they manage to score more than 4 runs. In half those games, 4 or fewer runs were scored.
So it comes down to the starting pitchers.
Orioles RH Kevin Gausman (7-7, 3.93 ERA) just lost his third straight start. Prior to this he only permitted three or fewer runs. We would imagine Gausman will be on his A Game for this one even though Ben Zobrist is 6-for-10 against him.
The Rays LH Drew Smyly (9-10, 3.31) limited Boston to just two runs his last start but did not factor into the decision. He's been unbeaten in five turns and limited the Orioles to just one run the last time he faced them.
