The two following words should never be written in a sentence with the intention of positivity: Mets and Glavine. How long have you worked for ESPN Jay?
The casino is not a new issue although many of the casino affilates have not heard. Various poker affiliates have. The casino didnt stop paying, the cardroom did. Effective Media "manages" as they like to put it, both an online poker room and online casino.
People only go to these extremes to hide their affiliations when they have done something wrong.
Lou and Warren
Have sent C&D's
Have banned their own members
Have banned other respected members in the industry such as Rebecca
Deleted threads on their forums.
Edited threads on their forums
Made a video stating they have no relationship whatsoever with CardSpike
Recanted their original video with a new one which says they are only working "performance based"
Created threads themselves explianing their side of the story and locking them so that no discussion could take place
Seriously, who does this.
Whether they owned it or not, the very fact that they were closely tied to the cardroom and a casino should raise questions and going to the extent they have to cover up the situation makes it worse.
Even though cake is paying affiliates now, the problem that needs to be addresses is why did Warren and Lou ignore and not pay their affiliates.
If they have any interest at all in the card room where does that leave affiliates since it has been well documented that they banned, or deleted nasty posts at PAP and neglected to get involved when affiliates weren't paid. They screwed over their own affiliates and the other programs by accepting money and competing against them.
This is quite a heavy allegation:
"Dear Affiliates/Affiliate Programs, For years, Lou Fabiano and Warren Jolly, both principle owners of www.CasinoAffiliatePrograms.com, have used their authority to squeeze out a number of affiliate programs from this industry - some of which were well-deserved, others not so much. Sometimes their decisions were based on purely merit (or lack thereof), but most of the time, the term "Rogue" was loosely awarded to any affiliate program that was unwilling to pay their hefty advertising fees,, or should I say, "Certification" fees."
Is their any corroboration of this? This is criminal extortion, money for threats.
Also this:
"As of late, CAP has stooped to an even lower level. By owning, operating, managing, or at the very least, having a financial interest in a so-called "Certified" Casino (www.AbsoluteSlots.com) and "Certified" Poker Room (www.CardSpike.com) threatens the integrity of the affiliate marketing model altogether, Many of you question whether this is true or not??? I have verifiable evidence that Lou Fabiano and Warren Jolly, the principle owners of CAP, have a major stake in both sites."
The issue is the "verifiable"; can you verify it?
The AbsoluteSlots allegation is also new to me; same question: verification?
Alan, this article has to do with the PPA stepping things up. You will be hard pressed to find anyone in the poker community who believes the PPA is giving it 100 percent right now. 15 days of wasted time. If anyone wants to support that type of progress, by all means do so. I'm a member of the PPA who would love to donate more money if I knew where that money was going. We are talking about a million plus member strong association that seems to still be on holiday. T'is the season to really start rallying the troops.
Did I miss something? Because I think you definitely did! Without the efforts of the PPA the poker universe in the US would be blind and a tiger without teeth. I have never seen any evidence by any other poker related group passing federal legislation, lobbying on behalf of not just their million members but all poker players, or defending players at large that are swept up by antiquated state gaming laws.
Gaming911 should be ashamed of yourself for publish this kind of sensational dribble in order to advance your misguided and flawed uneducated opinions on the matter.
Quite your complaining and help those poker players that actually do try and help.
Alan
If you think that is is a simple case of links from a popular site you are sadly mistaken.
Google "search engine optimization" and tell me how Gambling 911 could have accomplished this for them.
Please don't embarass yourself further but take heart. Ignorance is a curable affliction.
All business aside this is as truly heartless and sick analogy to make. As someone with many Jewish friends any reference to the horrible events of the Holocaust are completely out of line. It is entirely out of bounds to discredit and demean someones Faith and Heritage.
This comment made by Warren Jolly was truly disgusting; regardless of the accusations made.
I dont understand why the operators dont see this. Sure some affiliates may be brainwashed into thinking that CAP is legit but really do you think they could persuade everyone. I am sure that if the only group giving bad rep to operators is CAP and its group while others have no problems you will be just fine.
Besides how great is it knowing that while your pushing your 40K over to them they are using their own group of affiliates to push their room. Seriously wake up people!
- Manage and push a company which is in direct conflict with their sponsors
- Use CAP and PAP to get 100's of affiliates on board in their first month
- Neglect affiliates and deny any ownership in the problem
- AND CONTINUE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!
Who's the scum in this scenario
I still don't understand why rooms pay for these spots when they could use those funds to maintain their affiliates. A happy affiliate is more willing to put your room as their main room across their network of sites which in turn generates players while Warren and Jolly only recycle affiliates.
We were told the same thing and were advised that it is essential to advertise with them or - i refused to advertise as i am the provider of income to my affiliate partners and not them - and to be honest i do a lot more for my affiliate partners than they do - even without taking into account recent issues surfacing . Have some balls and tell them to bugger off .
Oh yeah they banned me from the forum as well - big deal - there are other forums that are vastly more productive in terms of business and no cliques or eye watering charges - check out the GIA
According to some the biggest affiliate programs, CAP has never brought in an active affiliate via their site for paying $40k per year for listing on CAP. The founders claim that they are real gaming affiliates but they are not with in 5 years Lou had brought in 5 depositng players to one of the biggest gaming room that I work for so 1 player per year :).
And their confrence is all about party and half decent naked girls, than doing real business and adding value to affiliates and affiliate programs world wide.
Lets be honest, wherever Bodog started from it was a good book and a success story. The same apllies in a smaller way to 911, which has I remember used to have an office in the Betonsports HQ. Did G give it an helping hand, who knows?
In an industry run mostly by Israelis, dropping the holocaust line might have been massive mistake on the part of Jolly. But then again until the dust settles on this little family feud, there is no real way of knowing the ramifications on that asinine remark. I would wonder, however, if the "honor amongst thieves" will result in the pull-out of any major players from the upcoming CAP events. I hope, for the sake of my €10,000 i paid for my booth, that all will run smoothly. but again only time will tell.
To set a few things straight...
Calvin was orginally a programmer that DESIGNED some gaming software for a few early online shops, he then left them- taking the software AND the player lists- and opened Bodog, his FIRST try at it.
Second, Bodog marketing was EVERYWHERE, which is why the US Government took notice of him in the firts place. He did articles with GQ and Cigar AFF magazine, they went to sporting events with Hummers painted with their logos, Gambling 911 accounted for less then 3% of BoDog marketing- Get real.
These established Sportsbooks are making MILLIONS and MILLIONS each year....Nine.com was a medium size book and sold for $57 milliion, Gambling 911 profits range in the 6 , not 7 figures, lets say closer to $***,*** a year. With almost 65% of americans and canadians gambling, Gambling 911 rates as a nose hair in the gaming industry!!!! Dont forget that.
FInally, if the industry is ever legalized, these sportsbook review sites wont mean a thing and all will be out of business, advertising on TV, direct mail, and just about everywhere else will take root and these sites will be useless the day they announce it's regulated
Warren Jolly disgusts me with his Holocaust comparison. In addition to his bullying of industry members, lying to the industry, and attempted SICK sexual advances on various women in this industry, he's gone on to insult a whole race of people...THE HUMAN RACE! Someone should *******!
The only reason Gambling911 posts these articles about bodog is to spite them for cutting their business with most affiliates.
I guess when the bread and butter is gone, people get upset.
" including popular representative, Rebecca Liggero, out of the CAP free parties during their London event later this month."
weird, she is a sweetheart
Bodog got its jumpstart by offering the best processing and had their own software. Competitors relied heavily on outside sources. This helped deliver Bodog sizable returns early on for marketing and they were very good at marketing. The processing short cuts are now coming back to bite them in the ass. I'm glad they're getting there house back in order as this article implies.
*Maybe* Fabiano's home address was listed because something illicit was taking place there? From what I understand, he works out of his home.
I don't think Corfman would list an address unless it meant something.... He's never listed any one else's address... Just a thought.
Also, my understanding is that IF a USA company or individual was running an online casino from the US and IF they were taking bets from americans, the IRS penalty is 3 times the wagering amounts.
So if your casino had $100,000 in wagers, and you made $10,000 profit, the IRS will penalize you $300,000....that or jail.
