Following a tight race between former chief policy director for the House Republican Conference in the U.S. House of Representatives Evan McMullin and GOP nominee Donald Trump, Utah has begun leaning more towards its reliable red with Trump now a -300 to -400 favorite to win the state.

Only a few days ago, Trump was coming in at -120 odds, McMullin +120 and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton at much longer 8-1 odds.

The news is only getting worse for McMullin with latest polls showing he’s sliding to third.

A new Heat Street/Rasmussen Reports telephone and online survey of Likely Utah Voters finds Trump with 42% support to Democrat Hillary Clinton’s 31%. Republican-turned-Independent candidate Evan McMullin has faded to 21%.

Utah offers an interesting betting strategy in that McMullin is widely believed to be taking votes away from Trump, thus making the race between the two big party nominees that much tighter.
