Sarah Palin Favored to be Republican Nominee in 2012

Sarah Palin

With all this talk about the newly released Sarah Palin book, "Going Rogue: an American Life", Gambling911.com decided to take a look at the former Republican Vice Presidential running mate's odds of being nominated the US Presidential candidate in 2012.  Sportsbook.com has her listed with odds of +350, the favorite, paying out $350 for every $100 bet if she indeed becomes the nominee.  Other betting exchanges list Palin right up there with Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty.

Sarah Palin is getting plenty of press this week as she begins her nationwide book tour, kicking off with an interview on Oprah.  She'll appear on 20/20 Friday in an interview with Barbara Walters.

The book is referred to as a political memoir, but in it, Sarah Palin goes on the attack against Republican Presidential candidate John McCain's staffers. She claims they mishandled her.  The book is also notable for its failure to make any mention of "almost" son-in-law Levi Johnston.

Publisher HarperCollins says it has printed 1.5 million copies.  It has been at the top of US bestseller lists for weeks due to pre-orders of the 1.5 million copies already printed.  Some believe Palin was paid as much as $7 million by the publishing house.

Sarah

If the republican party has nothing better to offer us than this, can I get a line on how bad they are gonna get crushed in 2012? I have my doubts that this woman could do the math question below to offer a response.

  • Online Gambling
You may have read my article yesterday entitled “ACLU Should Stand Firm in Kentucky Online Gambling Issue” where I reveal how the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled the commonwealth may seize some 141 online gambling-related domain names, something even our friends in China would never do.
  • Healthcare Reform
85 percent of customers at the betting exchange intrade.com believe that healthcare reform will pass. Those numbers are up from 40 percent in late February when those efforts looked doomed. Betting exchanges tend to be especially accurate.
  • Barney Frank Barbara Walters
Democratic Congressman Barney Frank is considered the greatest ally for online gambling. Once healthcare reform goes through this weekend, we should expect to see Frank push his legislation related to legalized online poker. But the workhorse Congressman certainly has his hands full.
  • The online gambling sector was dealt a serious blow on Thursday with news that the Kentucky Supreme Court reversed a state court of appeals ruling blocking an attempt by the Commonwealth of Kentucky to seize 141 domain names related to online gambling.
  • The Kentucky supreme court today issued a ruling that it will not lift the freeze by registrars of 141 Internet gambling domain names unless an owner of the names comes forward.
  • With New Jersey Governor Chris Christie proposing deep spending cuts, the subject of legalized sports betting once more comes to the forefront.
