  • Casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson among the biggest donors to the Donald Trump Presidential inauguration
  • Adelson has pushed for Web gambling prohibition in the States over the past few years
  • Adelson also wants to roll back current legislation in states where online gambling is already law

While it is clear that casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson could have done more to support incoming President Donald Trump financially, he’s starting to make up for it now beginning with the Presidential inauguration.

Adelson helped finance much of Friday’s inauguration.

As someone who has pushed for online gambling prohibition in the United States for the past few years, one can be assured he has the new President’s ear.

The odds are good Adelson will push for the reintroduction of legislation some believe he helped draft.  Certainly the Vegas billionaire embraced said legislation.

Not only does Adelson want online gambling prohibition in the States, he also wants to abolish the activity in states where Web gambling is already legal: New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware being the three.

Trump needled Adelson for being slow to open his wallet during the Presidential campaign. Eventually, he and his wife Miriam gave $5 million to a pro-Trump Super PAC.

It is estimated that $100 million was raised for the inauguration, more than any previous Presidential inauguration, according to the New York Times.

Chevron donated $500,000, Boeing has pledged $1 million and Adelson, according to the Times, donated more than a million dollars, though no specific number was given.
