Media pundits and a somewhat scientific CNN Instant poll suggested that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was the clear winner of Monday night’s first US Presidential Debate while various online polls and the GOP nominee himself declared Donald Trump the winner.

European wagering outlets are on board with Clinton as the winner and, indeed, the markets shifted from 63 percent to 69 percent immediately following the record-setting television showdown.

“Hillary may have failed to land a knockout blow but she was the significant points winner in the eyes of our customers who backed her relentlessly following the debate,” Dublin-based Paddy Power’s Feilim Mac An Iomaire said in the statement to CBS News, adding, “the odds of the U.S. having their first female president are looking much shorter now.”

Paddy Power’s Clinton chances of winning in November went from 63.6 percent before the debate to 71.4 percent after, while Trump’s fell from 38.1 percent to 33.3 percent.

While close to a dozen online polls indicated that Trump had won by large margins (and the hashtag #TrumpWins trending on Twitter throughout the morning Tuesday), a handful of media talking heads insisted these types of polls can be easily manipulated with no limit on the number of votes a single visitor can cast.

Traditional post-Debate poll results were anticipated no later than Friday of this week.
