Control of US Senate Odds Now Close to 50-50 Says Paddy Power

Irish online bookmaker Paddy Power has the odds of which party will control the US Senate at Republicans 8/13 and Democrats 6/5

The Republicans were widely expected to control the Senate following November mid-term elections, however, in recent days it now appears that Kansas Independent Greg Orman will likely beat three-term incumbent Republican Senator Pat Roberts.

Democrat party nominee Chad Taylor is attempting to get off the ballot in an effort to direct more votes for Orman, who would most likely vote with Democrats.  Three months ago, Orman was fairly unknown.  He still leads Roberts in current polls even with Taylor still on the ballot.  The Supreme Court will decide whether Taylor can drop out of the race.

Dave Helling of the Kansas City Star said on the “Rachel Maddow Show” Tuesday night that Greg Orman was “running an almost perfect campaign”.
