WPT Jacksonville Best Bet Open 2012: Matt Marafioti Takes the Chip Lead (Video)

The WPT Jacksonville Best Bet Open 2012 kicked off Friday (April 27) just a few months after the opening of this new poker room.  Matt Marafioti enjoyed the chip lead by Saturday evening.

Marafioti is a successful poker player from Toronto, Canada, who has won just shy of $2 million in live tournaments to date.

He has had 27 cashes and one win, however, six other events have yielded cashouts of six figures, his biggest being a 2nd place finish at the World Series of Poker Event #38 WSOP Pot Limit Hold’em Championship in 2010 that resulted in a take of $381,507.

The World Poker Tour Jacksonville Best Bet Open event features a $5,000 buy-in and two starting days.

This is a re-entry event, so players who bust on Day 1A can pay again to sign up on Day 1B. Even players who survive Day 1A have the option of trying to improve their finishing chip stack on Day 1B -- if they survive both days, their lower chip count will be removed from play and their higher chip count will carry over to Day 2.
