Poker celebrity, Vanessa Rousso, is now focusing her attention on the ladies of the poker world.  As the number of female poker players continues to grow by leaps and bounds, the need for top-notch instruction geared for women, has never been greater. Rousso's Big Slick Boot Camp, has joined efforts with PokerStars to launch a series of Ladies Only Boot Camps designed for women poker enthusiasts who want to make their mark in a male dominated arena.

"Being a successful poker player is a combination of skill and confidence," Rousso says.  "Since men far out number women in the poker community, it is imperative for female players to display a strong level of confidence in their game to avoid being perceived as an easy target...this type of intimidation tactic can easily compromise optimal playing ability." The boot camp is designed to provide women with skills and techniques to improve playing ability, as well as effective strategies to develop a level of confidence that commands respect at the poker table.

Rousso first gained recognition in 2006 when she became the youngest woman to cash at a final table at a WSOP circuit event. Since then she has rocked the poker world with her playing prowess raking in more than $3.5 million.  Last year she made history once again defeating some of the biggest names in poker and becoming the first woman to make it to a final table at the highly acclaimed 2009 NBC Heads-Up event.

Rousso is not only regarded as one of the top players in the world, but has become one of the most sought after poker instructors. Her ability to teach the game is evidenced by numerous accolades from students who attribute their increased earnings to what they learned at her Big Slick Boot Camp. In fact, of the 50 players who recently attended Rousso's Boot Camp at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, 8 cashed in tournaments earning over $50,000.  Last year, one of her student's took home 40K from the Main Event.

The first EPT Ladies Only Boot Camp will be held April 27, in Monte Carlo (France). The 6-hour women only event will offer a 1-hour photo and autograph session followed by a 5-hour instructional boot camp.   Rousso will focus on the theory of poker and highlight specific areas that pertain to women players in a male dominated game.

PokerStars.com is awarding $5,000 prize packages to weekly winners of their online satellite tournaments.  The complete package includes $400 entry to Boot Camp, $1.000 cash, $1,500 buy-in to Ladies Only Tournament, and 5 nights luxurious accommodation in Monte Carlo.  Interested players can register to win on PokerStars.com by looking under "Events / EPT."  The cost of the Boot Camp alone is $400, and can be purchased separately through Google checkout at www.bigslickbootcamp.com.

"Providing a Ladies Only Boot Camp allows me to give back to the poker community, Rousso says, I hope to encourage more women to become competitive players."

Rousso is thrilled to welcome serious players to her boot camp and invites them to sign up on her website www.bigslickbootcamp.com or call 1-877-33-SLICK for more information.
