UB.com’s Second Sundays, a monthly program of $10 buy-in online charity tournaments at the leading online poker site, will continue this Sunday, January 9th at 14:45 ET. UB will match the total funds raised by players, with all proceeds donated to Miles for Miracles, a new program that raises money for Spinal Cord Research, spearheaded by former Motocross champion Jimmy Button.

Team UB’s Maria Ho pairs up with Tiffany Michelle, who previously tackled their own challenging journey on TV’s ‘The Amazing Race’, will head this month’s Second Sundays event.

"There was no question that we wanted to be the two UB Pros to co-host this event. Jimmy is a good friend of ours and has shown both of us so much support in our careers. We're proud to get behind him and turn the poker world's attention towards this important cause", said Tiffany Michelle.

The Miles for Miracles program is an initiative supported by Jimmy Button’s Road to Recovery Foundation, which he created after enduring his own career-ending injury at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego in January of 2000. Button’s steely spirit saw him overcome the doctor’s prognosis of incomplete quadriplegia, and the months of painful and costly rehabilitation saw him walk again to become one of the fortunate few that ever recover from these types of injuries.

On February 20, 2011, former motocross champion Jimmy Button and his friend and trainer Cory Worf will bicycle 2428 miles from San Diego, California to Daytona Beach, Florida, with the main aim of raising awareness and money for the ongoing Spinal Cord Research that could end the suffering a person goes through after having injured their spinal cord.

All those who pony up the Second Sundays $10 buy-in are automatically in the running for prizes just for competing, while embracing the chance to show their support for Jimmy Button’s cause. The January 9th Second Sundays charity poker tournament payouts include entry to UB’s weekly $200+15 buy-in $200,000 Guaranteed tournament to the top ten finishers. The winner also receives a bonus Wireless Poker Controller, plus there’s a bounty on Tiffany and Maria’s heads, with the player who busts each from the tourney picking up a $66 entry to UB’s $7K GTD tourney at 21:30 ET on the same day.

Direct cash donations are also now available online at UB via Player-to-Player transfer to the account “CHARITIES” (first name is “Charity”). Plus, players can also donate via the UltimatePoints Store, with donations starting from as low as 500 UltimatePoints ($3.50 equivalent).

Throughout 2010, UB’s Second Sundays online tourneys attracted over 1800 community-minded poker players, who participated in the 10 monthly events that ran from March through December, and raised a total of $36,691 for a range of national and regional charitable causes.
