One of the most popular poker players on the circuit today Tom "Durrrr" Dwan has been defeated by Italian player and sports bettor Marcello "Luckexpress" Marigliano as part of a Million Dollar Challenge.

The players started the game with $250,000 while Durrrr upped this to $500,000 later in the game, according to CardPlayer.com.

Despite getting the upper hand in early play Durrrr was ground back by the Italian and with around one hour left to play in the early hours of this morning the players switched from no-limit hold'em to pot-limit Omaha.

"In the end I won a small amount but I'm happy though as I won with bluffs," said Marigliano. "He raised a lot pre-flop and you have to play tight but I made some good moves and I'm happy I proved I can play with Tom."

But Dwan wasn't done.  He came back strong against another player, Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, during Day 2 of the challenge. Dwan was down around $150k near the end but managed to win a big enough pot later on to walk away victorious.
