South African Poker Player Divan Le Roux Wins APT Philippines 2012

Divan Le Roux of South Africa was declared the winner at this week’s APT Philippines USD $2700 Main Event, walking away with just shy of $200,000.  This is Le Roux’s first significant win or cashout on the live poker circuit.

The final table started with overnight chip leader Oliver Speidel doing most of the work and eliminating several players in the form of Adam Monaghan, David Steicke and Antonio Martins. Le Roux then busted Guam’s Franklin Acfalle before Speidel went on to end the three-year dominance of Filipino players on the APT Philippines title when he railed the home country’s last hope of Nicandro Filart in 6th place.

Final table payouts:

1st Divan Le Roux USD $197,000

2nd Conrad Coetzer USD $104,000
