Texas Hold'em has fast become the most popular game of Poker played online today. The game involves players being dealt a number of cards which can be used by any player to make a winning hand!

Texas Hold'em has a ‘dealer button' to indicate the dealer of each hand. Once a hand is completed the button moves clockwise to the next player. This method ensures that each player has the chance of playing early or late and that every player gets to place a ‘blind bet'.

Omaha High Poker is a community Poker game and another one that enjoys much popularity as far as poker games online go. Much like Texas Hold'em each player is dealt cards face up and community cards can be used by any player along with their cards to make a winning hand.

Variations of Omaha High are defined by betting limits.

Limit Omaha High features a specific betting amount that cannot be raised.

Pot Limit Omaha High is based on the rule that the player can bet the amount of the pot.

No Limit Omaha High is based upon players being able to bet all of their chips at any time.

Omaha Hi/Lo is another version Omaha. In this variation of the game betting blinds and posting are exactly the same as in Omaha. The only difference is at the showdown where the pot is split between the holder of the highest hand and the holder of the lowest hand if the low hand qualifies.

7 Card Stud and 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo are also popular online poker games.

Each player will be dealt 7 cards throughout the game and must attempt to make the best 5 card poker hand possible.

With 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, 7 card Stud Hi/Lo runs parallel with 7 card stud right up until the showdown. The difference that comes here is that the pot is spilt evenly between the player with the highest and lowest hand. A single player can have both the highest and lowest hand in one game.

Each player will be dealt 7 cards throughout the game and must attempt to make the best 5 card poker hand possible.

Another interesting poker game online is Razz. What is Razz?

Razz is a low version of Seven card ‘Stud' and uses the Ace to five low hand values.

Like in all low hand games pairs count against the player, for example any hand with no pair will defeat any hand with a pair. One pair hands will defeat both ‘two pair' and ‘three of a kind'. Hands with no pairs are compared starting with the highest ranking card, as is the case in high poker, the only difference being that the high hand loses. In an ace-to-five low game, straights and flushes are both ignored and aces play as the lowest card.

Like in ‘Seven card Stud' each player is dealt seven cards in five rounds and must attempt to make the best poker hand with the cards they have been dealt in order to win the jackpot!

At the showdown each player must make the best poker hand possible with the seven cards they have been dealt. The best poker hand takes the pot!

Other popular poker games online include 5 Card Stud. This game adheres to the structure found in ‘7 Card Stud' the only exception being the use of only 5 cards and not 7. There is also 5 Card Draw (how to play 5 Card Draw here) which is a poker variant and often the first variant learned by most players. It is common in home games although it is rare in casino and tournament play.

Ace To 5 Low Ball Poker Online is another popular game that works by all players trying to make the best hand possible from five cards.
