The all-time 15 World Series of Poker bracelet leader Phil Hellmuth has spent the better part of the last month trying to defend his place in the poker hierarchy. Do WSOP bracelets really tell you who’s a great poker player?

Perhaps that question will be answered Wednesday (March 30, 2021) when Hellmuth takes on the world's leading money earner in poker, Daniel Negreanu, as part of a "High Stakes Duel" on the subscription service PokerGO.  The match will be broadcast starting 2 pm ET.

Hellmuth has won $24 million in career live tournaments.  Negreau has taken in $42 million.

Each player is putting up $50,000 for the heads-up No-limit Hold’em match, and the loser has the right to a rematch at double the stakes.

Hellmuth has already proven his worth on this front after beating one of the other top money earners, Antonio Esfandiari, in the first "High Stakes Duel" held last year.

Negreanu (AKA "Kid Poker") recently lost $1.2 million to poker pro Doug Polk in a heads-up challenge concluding February 3.
