With another 12 plus inches of snow expected up the Mid Atlantic coast, poker players and would be poker players alike are stuck in their homes with nothing else to do but shovel snow, watch television and play online poker.

Looking at the site stats at PokerSiteScout.com it would appear the recent snow storm may be helping to boost traffic numbers.

PokerStars.com, the world's largest online poker room and one that takes customers from the U.S., had an average 32,600 players over the past week but the 24 hour peak was nearly 50,000.

Full Tilt's 24 hour peak was 10,000 more than its weekly average.

Snow has been falling throughout the Chicago area all the way to the East Coast with major MidAtlantic cities from Washington, D.C. to Boston anticipating anywhere from 12 to 18 inches.
