Ole Scheimion Leads for Day 3 of the EPT Grand Final Main Event

Reigning EPT Player of the Year Ole Schemion is leading the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final Main Event going in to Day 3.

The 22-year-old wizard has been crushing live poker at the highest level for the last four years and is already fourth in the stacked German all-time money list with nearly $7.8 million in live tournament winnings. His numerous accomplishments include winning the European Poker Player of the Year award two years running (2013 and 2014). Schemion has three $1 million+ results to date, the latest coming in January at the Aussie Millions when he was runner-up in the $100k Super High Roller. Bagging 477,700 to seize today's chip lead, Schemion another seven-figure cash firmly in his sights: this season's EPT Grand Final champion will take home €1,082,000 prize.

Although Schemion failed to cash in the two Super High Rollers this festival, history shows he's pretty comfortable in this venue: he won three side events here back in Season 9.

Schemion's fellow countryman Christopher Frank is currently lying in second place with 465,100 while Day 1 chip leader Jose Carlos Garcia has kept up the pace and is currently third with 461,200.

Six Team PokerStars Pros have made it to Day 3: Jason Mercier (296,400), Vanessa Selbst (285,000), Andre Akkari (146,900), Johnny Lodden (109,000) and Eugene Katchalov (71,200) plus Team Online's Isaac Haxton (221,300).

There were 564 players from 60 different countries in the EPT Grand Final Main Event. Tomorrow will see the bubble burst with 79 players hoping for a share of the €5,640,000 prize pool.
