Dutchman Joran van der Sloot, who is currently serving time in the notorious Peruvian prison, Castro Castro, for allegedly murdering a young female college student, Stefany Flores, has been tied to a spate of stabbings while behind bars, according to a Dutch magazine.

Panorama reports that three fellow inmates were allegedly stabbed by the 23-year-old, who is also a prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalie Holloway six years ago.

Van der Sloot’s attorney has denied the accusations, describing them as “fabricated”.

Panorama also alleged that van der Sloot has been a heavy drug user while in jail. "He has been put into solitary confinement several times but comes out even more angry," according to a magazine source.

"There are bad intentions to do harm to Joran," his lawyer, Maximo Altez said. "But he actually wants to change his life and goes to church."

Joran is alleged to have killed Flores nearly one year ago after meeting her in a Lima casino while attending the Latin American Poker Tour.  He is currently awaiting trial.
