John McCain iPhone Poker Gaffe Goes Viral on G911

It’s one of the most talked about articles to ever appear on the Gambling911.com website – Arizona Republican Senator John McCain caught playing online poker on his iPhone during a Senate Subcommittee Hearing on Syria.

“This one has gone viral.  It is huge,” notes Payton O’Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.  “I can’t remember an article that has had this type of exposure and feedback on such a wide scale.”

McCain initially told CNN he was playing for real money but quickly explained he was only joking.  “It was free money,” he said.

Comments on the Gambling911.com Facebook page:

Dennis Pence writes: “Cool ain't the correct word Marcus - pure unadulterated ignorance is more like it. They "feather their own nest" and let the rest of America go to hell.”

Robert Seller suggested: “I wish more folks in the legislative branch would do more of this, gives them less time to keep doing the stupid things they do.”

Gary Earl Elliott wrote:  “John's having a self-imposed bad string of PR happenings...”

Yes, talk about some bad press.

The Liberal leaning New York Post had this to say about McCain’s gaffe:

While President Obama’s top aides were gambling the Senate Foreign Relations Committee would back a military strike on Syria, Sen. John McCain was playing poker on his iPhone.
The Arizona Republican, who has pushed hard for the United States to take military action, appeared more interested in making straights than listening to Secretary of State Kerry make the case for punishing Syrian despot Bashar Assad.
