HPT Adds Two More Stops to Season X Schedule

Fargo, ND – Building off a record year, Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) is raising the bar with even more tour stops in 2014.  With two more nationally-televised tournaments added to the schedule, HPT’s Season X will now extend into December.  Prairie Meadows Racetrack Casino Hotel in Altoona, Iowa will host HPT for the fourth time with a ten-day series starting on November 28th.  From there, the tour will wrap up the year with a ten-day series at Indigo Sky Casino in Wyandotte, Oklahoma.  Play at Indigo Sky will kick off on December 5th with the Main Event scheduled for December 12th-15th.

The December events will give players a jump start on points for the Season XI Player of the Year race.  The title comes with Main Event buy-ins and hotel accommodations for HPT events across the country.  HPT’s reigning POY, Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler, earned the honor after four Final Table appearances, two of which came at Prairie Meadows and Indigo Sky.

HPT will crown two dozen champions in 2014 and award millions of dollars in prize money.  To date, HPT has awarded over $54 million to poker enthusiasts from Northern California to Florida.  In the mid-States, Shawn Roberts has experienced enviable success on HPT.  He walked away a champion twice, most recently at Indigo Sky Casino last year.  Roberts has seven HPT cashes with over $175,000 in earnings.  Like Roberts, Matt Hennig of Des Moines, Iowa has experienced great success on HPT.  After prevailing at Prairie Meadows Racetrack Casino Hotel in the spring of 2013, Hennig came close to repeating his title in the fall when he notched a ninth-place finish.

Prairie Meadows Racetrack Casino Hotel offers first-class accommodations that rival some of the best properties in Las Vegas.  Its central location outside of Des Moines, Iowa makes Prairie Meadows easily accessible for anyone in the Midwest and beyond.  Several popular dining options are available including AJ’s Steakhouse and Café at the Meadows.

Indigo Sky Casino is a new property in the Four States area, a convenient drive from Kansas City, Missouri, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wichita, Kansas, and Fayetteville, Arkansas.  The full-service casino boasts a state-of-the-art bingo hall, a dynamic casino floor with over 1,200 gaming machines, and an off-track betting site.

Both tour stops will be filmed for upcoming episodes of Heartland Poker Tour and syndicated to more than 100 million homes throughout the United States, in addition to widespread distribution throughout Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.  HPT televises more tournaments in the world than any other tour, bringing a full production set to each stop.
