Herman Cain Wins at Wynn Using ‘9-9-9’ Plan at the Poker Tables

One time GOP candidate for President of the United States and former head of the Godfathers Pizza restaurant chain, Herman Cain, has taken his famed “9-9-9” plan to Vegas.

The New York Post this weekend confirmed that Cain had been gambling at the poker tables, including the Wynn Las Vegas Encore Resort Thursday night, using his “9-9-9” combination…..and winning.

The so-called “9-9-9” plan, which Cain mentioned just about every time he appeared on the airwaves, involved a 9 percent flat tax on household income, a 9 percent corporate tax, and a 9 percent national sales tax.

Now it’s a winning poker hand apparently.

During Thursday night’s poker game at the Wynn Encore, Cain was heard shouting out “Give me a 9-9-9!" in the heat of a three-card poker game.

From the New York Post:

Witnesses said the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO was alone, with no security, at the low- rollers’ table. One said, “We were amazed to see Herman Cain at the lowest buy-in table, practically the first table as you walk into the casino. There was no going to the high-rollers’ private rooms for him.

“He was alone and playing for quite a while,” our spy said. “At one point during a game, when he was playing against the dealer, he complained about his hand and shouted, ‘I need a 9, give me a 9-9-9!’

“Given the significance, everybody fell about, laughing. He didn’t win big at the gambling table, but charmed others in the casino.”

The source added Cain has been a regular fixture at the tables at the casino, but never gambles big money, despite being worth approximately $6.6 million.

A Cain spokesperson confirmed that the one time Presidential candidate did indeed win the poker hand in question using his “9-9-9” strategy.

Early on in the GOP Presidential race, Gambling911.com’s own Thomas Somach presented a series of stories on Republican candidates and their stance as it relates to gambling.  Somach found that most, if not all, were opposed to gambling (albeit the biggest donor to Newt Gingrich’s Super PAC just happens to be Las Vegas casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson).

Somach never quite delved into Cain’s position on gambling but one can probably bet the house he would have been good for the world of poker and its eventual regulation online in the United States based on what we are learning now.
