Freezeout Multi-Table Online Poker Tournaments to Become Re-Entry Tournaments at ACR
Americas Cardroom is ushering in a brand new era in online poker by making a big change to all freezeout tournaments. Just days away from their long expected $250,000 Guaranteed tournament on April 15th, all existing freezeout multi-table tournaments will become Re-Entry Tournaments, a popular tournament structure that lets players who bust out early re-enter at a new table with a refreshed chip stack.
"We've received an incredible response to our Re-Entry Tourneys since we first launched them, and our inbox has been flooded with emails from players looking for more Re-Entries," said Americas Cardroom spokesman Michael Harris. “When the ‘rebuy’ was first introduced it had a big impact in online poker history. Today Americas Cardroom also makes history by adding the Re-Entry option to all existing freezeout tournaments".
Harris notes that the change will allow players to put in more volume resulting in bigger prize pools and larger payouts. The move also means less waiting around for an available tournament to start. With more Re-Entry Tournaments on the schedule, players will almost always find a tournament that's open for late registration.
Online poker players can re-enter a tournament as many times as they'd like while late-registration is still open. What's more, players will be taken to a brand new table once they've re-entered to battle new players who might not be familiar with their playing style.
The move comes just in time for this weekend's Liberty Quarter Million, where $250,000 is on the line this Sunday April 15th at 7:00pm ET. Satellites into the event are now open, and the late registration option means more opportunity for players to still win a seat—even if they've busted out early.
Players looking to satellite into the Liberty Quarter Million can participate in Americas Cardoom's 250-Seat Super Satellite this Friday April 13th, beginning at 8:00pm ET. The event has 250 seats guaranteed in the April 15th Liberty Quarter Million, and costs $36+3 to enter.
All Liberty Weekend events contribute points to Americas Cardroom's April $60,000 Points Race. The 250-Seat Super Satellite on Friday will award 1,000 points while the $250,000 Guaranteed Tournament on April 15 will reward players with 7,500 points in the Race.
