EPT100 Barcelona Breaks Records With 1496 Players; €1,261,000 Grand Prize

There were a staggering 1496 players from 71 countries competing at #EPT100 Barcelona, the historic 100th EPT Main Event and the debut event of Season 11. This is a record for EPT events in Europe (beating the 1,240-strong EPT6 Sanremo won by Liv Boeree) and follows the record-breaking €1,100 Estrellas Main Event which had 2,560 entries. Day 1b yesterday, which had 1010 entries, was also the biggest start day for any EPT, including the PCA.

This season's Barcelona champion will receive a life-changing first prize of €1,261,000. In all, 239 wil get a share of the €7,255,600 prize pool.

In addition to cash prize and trophy, the new champion will also receive a stunning “Black and Steel” watch from luxury Swiss brand SLYDE, the Official Watch Sponsor for EPT Season 11 Main Events and High Rollers.

Spanish player Jose Lamarca was leading 906 players at the start of today - the 889 players who made it through the two Day 1s plus 17 new entries. There are around 477 remaining at the time of writing.

Joining forces with the Estrellas Poker Tour once again, the EPT11 Barcelona Poker Festival features 44 events at Casino Barcelona including the €1,100 Estrellas Main Event, the €5,300 EPT Main Event and the prestigious €50k Super High Roller.
