Chan Pelton Stripped of WSOP Ring Following ‘Chip Scandal’: Banned for Life

Poker player, Chan Pelton, has been stripped of his ring following an investigation by World Series of Poker organizers.  Pelton is also banned from all Caesars properties.

The three-time gold ring winner in World Series of Poker circuit events was under investigation for allegedly pocketing a T25,000 chip from the WSOP Circuit Palm Beach Kennel Club in Florida.

Officials at that facility confirmed this week that video surveillance showed Pelton removing the suspect chip.

Palm Beach Kennel Club officials announced via a press release, "An act of theft of poker room property – the removal of a poker chip off the poker table – by one of the two remaining players in the event was confirmed by video surveillance."

In his defense, Pelton claims he merely wanted the chip as a “souvenir” and now vows to sue the World Series of Poker.

Pelton’s most recent WSOP circuit “win” has been voided and runner-up, Chris Bolek, will now be deemed the winner.  Bolek’s original $27,000 cash will be divided among other tournament players.
